5/2006— Microsoft Ends Support for Windows 98 and Windows Me
Effective June 30, 2006, support for Windows® 98, Windows® 98 Second Edition, and Windows® Millennium Edition (Windows Me) will end.
Existing support documents and content, however, will continue to be available through the Microsoft Support Product Solution Center Web site. [Microsoft’s] Web site will continue to host a wealth of previous How-to, Troubleshooting, and Configuration content for anyone who may need self-service.
Microsoft is retiring support for these products because they are outdated and can expose customers to security risks. Microsoft® recommends that customers who are still running Windows® 98 or Windows® Me upgrade to a newer, more secure Microsoft® operating system, such as Windows® XP, as soon as possible.

2/2006—www.answers.com is an incredibly useful site for looking up words.  It searches a thesaurus, multiple dictionaries an encyclopedia and returns all results at once.  Try it.

 

1/2006—Your small business wireless network may be vulnerable to wireless attacks—even if you do not have a wireless network.  Why? Because most new laptops are shipped with a wireless card.  Unless you disable the card, your laptop will constantly try to connect to neighboring wireless networks.  This tip was shared by Abdollah Konak of Penn State during the January Berks Chamber Technology Leadership Event.  For a copy of related presentation materials, email:  stevew@ims400.com
